Is it necessary to create such suffering?
Is there a need at all
Seems forever I’ve been thinking
That it’s good somehow to fall
To struggle to rise up again
All my own creation
All my own folly
All my own illusion?
The cause, my own confusion?
If I choose an easy life
One of profound peace and ease,
Would I be in harmony,
Or just a delusional sense of serenity?
Is there a way for things to flow
Without a challenge at every bend?
Is this struggle necessary
For growth throughout to the end?
I think yes
We can create
Peace and untold serenity
With a life free from the bonds of money
Free from all society
Rules and false authority
Deeply rooted with nature glowing
Welcoming us home
May we have
Both at once
An ecstatic being of love

Wonderful thought challenges weave through your poem, Jason. Very nicely done. And heron’s have a spiritual significance to me – it was lovely to see it on my feed.
Thank you Angela. I so appreciate your reflection. I can see heron as a teacher of great depth and wisdom. Much love,
